Dear parents and guardians,
Congratulations on the completion of the first semester of the 2024/25 academic year!
We have come a long way since September. Our secondary school students have engaged in a range of dynamic learning activities and opportunities that have enriched their knowledge and understanding across all subject areas. In MYP, our students have increasingly engaged in concept-based inquiry. Within the DP, students have busily worked on elements such as their Internal Assessments, and Extended Essays while completing their standard course work. Our Bilingual students are in the final round of their MOE Semester 1 examinations. Needless to say, these are busy days!
In Semester 2, you can expect to be called upon to participate in an array of learning activities and special events, ranging from CAS fundraisers to Movie Nights, and MYP Projects exhibitions. As a community, we are dedicated to ensuring that your child is at the center of what we do in this building. We want to ensure that our secondary students are in the driver’s seat of their education. This comes with a heightened degree of agency and responsibility on the part of the learner – this, of course, is aspirational. We are hopeful that, with your support, we will continue to make positive strides with each learner within our school community.
As you review your child’s Semester 1 report, I urge you to consider the journey ahead. Your child’s teachers have offered positive and constructive feedback. Please take the time to review it with your child and discuss the pathways to further success that they have suggested. I also invite you to keep the lines of communication open with the teachers who engage with your child on a daily basis. This communication is key to ensuring future success. Finally, I invite you to continue to visit the Ellesmere Muscat campus. Your presence here and your input are important to our continued progress as a school community.
