Dear parents and guardians,

Ellesmere Muscat is excited to host Book Week – a fun and exciting event to celebrate reading and stories. This special week is designed to help students enjoy books, learn new things, and express themselves in creative ways. Book Week is for all students, and there will be many activities to help them become stronger readers, better writers, and more confident speakers. Most of all, it is a time to enjoy the magic of books and share that joy with others.

Many fun events will take place during Book Week. Students and teachers will dress up as their favourite book characters on “Book Character Day.” During “Drop Everything and Read” time, everyone in the school will stop what they are doing and enjoy reading. Students will also help to make a class book by writing a short story or poem to be included in a shared collection. They will collect inspiring quotes from famous authors and display them on speech bubbles around the school. We are also happy to welcome special guest speakers who will talk to students about the power of reading and writing. These talks will help students learn from real authors and storytellers.

Book Week is also about working together. In “Buddy Reading,” older students will read to younger students, helping them enjoy stories in different languages. Other activities, such as making story bags or comic strips, will allow students to show their understanding in creative ways. There will also be chances to speak in front of others through debates and storytelling events. Parents are invited to be part of this special week and support their children in discovering a love of reading. We hope to see you there!

Best regards,
