Dear parents and guardians,
Thank you for your participation in this week’s Three-Way Conferences on November 6 & 7.
The purpose of these conferences was to provide an opportunity for students, teachers, and parents to come together and gain a common understanding of each student’s academic progress. It was wonderful to see so many students on hand, sharing their reflections with their teachers and parents!
Educational research shows that the active involvement of students in these processes encourages them to take ownership of their learning, while also allowing parents to engage directly with the teacher’s observations and suggestions.
Over the last two days, I have witnessed and engaged in critical dialogue concerning our students’ learning alongside our parents and students. Many of these conversations were upbeat and lighthearted, while others were more challenging. All concluded with a set of goals that all parties constructed and committed to.
Our students are all on their individual learning journeys; these journeys vary in terms of their complexity and should be approached with a great degree of attentiveness and care. Our aim with these meetings was to identify challenges and construct effective alternate pathways to future success.
I am hopeful that these conferences have provided our students with pathways to further success in the first term and beyond. Thank you to those who were able to attend our conferences!
Best regards,
Mr. Ibrahim
