Dear Parents and Guardians,

Since September, our MYP students have embarked on an exciting journey into the world of film-making. What began as an introduction to a new medium has evolved into a rich learning experience filled with creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.

Throughout the academic year, students in Grades 7 to 10 have developed a wide range of practical and conceptual skills. They have learned how to plan through the use of storyboarding techniques, operate cameras and editing software, and present their work with confidence. They have also developed teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills – essential competencies not only in the arts but across all areas of learning.

This coming Thursday, May 8, our young filmmakers will share the fruits of their labour. During the school day, our “classroom theaters” will come alive as students showcase their short films to peers and staff. These screenings are not only a chance to entertain but also to celebrate the tremendous growth, effort, and originality of our students.

At Ellesmere Muscat, we want to recognise process and progress as much as achievement. These film projects reflect months of hard work, reflection, and refinement. They are proof of what our students can accomplish when they are encouraged to explore and express through the arts.

We look forward to seeing the school community come together to support and celebrate this important milestone in our students’ learning journey.

Best regards,

Ibrahim Abd Rahman
