In today’s connected world, the impact of social media on teenagers is a concern for parents. At Ellesmere Muscat, we address this issue with a balanced perspective, acknowledging both the advantages and potential risks.

Social media provides teenagers with a platform for self-expression.It plays a crucial role in enhancing communication skills and digital literacy in our tech-driven society. However, real challenges like cyberbullying, the impact on mental health, and potential addiction exist. We emphasize responsible social media use, teaching students to navigate these pitfalls thoughtfully.

Our Grade 10 students recently participated in a debate on this topic, showcasing our commitment to holistic education. This debate allowed them to share opinions, personal experiences, and gain insights from peers, highlighting the importance of critical thinking in dealing with social media complexities.

Our approach includes educating teenagers about digital citizenship, online etiquette, and the balance between online and offline life. Ellesmere Muscat aims to equip students with the skills to make informed decisions, using social media positively while minimizing potential risks.
