This week has been a reminder of how learning extends beyond the classroom walls, shaping our students’ experiences, values, and aspirations. Across all grade levels, we have seen how meaningful learning takes place when students engage with real-world concepts, express themselves creatively, and build connections with their community.
Our Ramadan Values event highlighted the importance of character education and ethical learning. It was heartening to see students reflect on values such as kindness, generosity, and gratitude—essential qualities that shape not just their academic journey but their growth as responsible global citizens.
The Language Exhibition: From Text to Stage, led by our DP and Bilingual Grade 11 students, was a testament to the power of communication and creativity. We were reminded that literacy is more than just reading and writing; it is about interpretation, expression, and storytelling. This event demonstrated the richness of bilingualism and the confidence that comes from using language as a tool for thought and perspective-taking.
Our KG2 Mother’s Day celebration was a touching example of how even our youngest learners engage in authentic learning experiences. Expressing appreciation and gratitude is a foundational skill in emotional intelligence, and seeing our students share their love for their mothers through songs, art, and words was a reminder of the deep connections between social-emotional learning and academic growth. There were smiles all round.
One of the most exciting moments this week was the progress on our new playground. Play is a crucial part of a child’s development, supporting problem-solving, collaboration, and creativity. A well-designed play space enhances not only physical development but also cognitive and social skills, reinforcing the importance of learning through movement and exploration. Watch this space for more developments in the upcoming weeks. It is so exciting to see our students engaging in play and developing all of those skills mentioned above. This, and our Mother’s Day Celebration certainly aligns with the saying, All I Ever Needed to Know, I Learnt in Kindergarten!
Finally, we hosted a Ministry guest speaker for our Grade 10 students, providing them with valuable insights into DP and Bilingual course offerings for the next academic year. These sessions are key in helping students make informed decisions about their learning pathways, ensuring they select courses that align with their aspirations and strengths. Please play an active role in discussing options with your child.
Each of these events showcases the depth of teaching and learning at our school—where students engage, inquire, and grow in ways that extend beyond textbooks and traditional assessments. Thank you to our teachers, students, and families for making this week such a meaningful celebration of learning.
