We’ve had a very busy and exciting week in the Primary School, with lots of learning happening across all grades! The children have settled in well, and it’s been wonderful to witness their excitement as they inquire into their different units.

Our Grade 1 students have adjusted beautifully to the new school year and are fully engaged in their learning. In Grade 2, the children have been inquiring about community helpers, learning about who helps us in the community. They had a fantastic time dressing up as firefighters, doctors, and other community contributors, exploring how people enrich our lives.

In Grade 3, the children have  learned about water as a vital resource for living things, the availability and distribution of water, and the responsibilities we have toward its conservation.

Grade 4 students have been exploring how the voice is used in the development of characters and how voice interpretation plays a crucial role in storytelling and communication.

Meanwhile, our Grade 5 students have been looking into the diverse ways people express themselves and the cultural practices in different societies. They’ve had a great time writing about the Omani Cinderella, gaining insights into both personal and cultural identities.

Grade 6 has been delving into the fascinating inquiry “The Sun influences the solar system.” They have been learning about the apparent movement of the Earth, how the Moon affects life on Earth, and the incredible scientific advancements in studying our planet from space. The children have had a fantastic time creating models of the solar system, bringing their learning to life in a hands-on and engaging way!

As all grades finish their first units of inquiry, we are excited to move into the next units, which promise to continue inspiring curiosity and engagement among our students.
