Dear parents and guardians,
As we complete the first academic week of 2025, I would like to use this opportunity to say Happy New Year to all of you!
Grade 11 and 12 first semester examinations:
Our Grade 11 students are currently writing their first semester MOE General Education Diploma examinations. These examinations will run from the 9th of January through the 23rd of January. Our Grade 12 IB Diploma Programme students will write their ‘Pre-Mock Examinations’ from the 13th through the 21st of January. Finally, our Grade 12 Bilingual Program (BIL) students will write their first semester MOE General Education Diploma examinations from the 19th of January through the 6th of February. We encourage all of our Grade 11 and 12 students to use their preparation time effectively. Their teachers will continue to support them for the duration of the examination period. We wish our students great success!
First semester reports:
Secondary teachers are currently preparing first semester reports. These reports will be shared with families on the 30th of January. The report will provide you with a detailed overview of your child’s academic progress across all subjects and guidance for further improvement. As you anticipate these reports, we encourage you to monitor your children through the process of completing their final tests and summative tasks. Parents are also strongly encouraged to check-in with their children’s teachers if they have any remaining questions or concerns about their child’s progress ahead of the reports.
An alternative perspective and words of encouragement:
At this stage of the academic year, examination results and semester one reports will provide a clear picture of your child’s current academic standing. For most of you, this feedback will be followed by optimism and encouragement. For others, the news of your child’s progress will be challenging. I invite all of you, irrespective of their current academic status, to help inculcate a Growth Mindset in your child. The second term is an opportunity for new beginnings for every secondary student.
