We’ve had a fantastic week as everyone continues to settle in. The children have dived into their Units of Inquiry, showing great enthusiasm and curiosity as they explore new topics and concepts. It’s been wonderful to see classrooms buzzing with excitement as students collaborate, ask questions, and make connections across subjects.
We held a very successful “Meet the Teacher” event, where teachers shared expectations for the year with parents. The feedback from parents has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their appreciation for the clear communication and insight into what lies ahead for their children. The event helped set a strong, collaborative tone for the school year, and both parents and teachers felt it was a valuable opportunity to connect and align on key goals.
In addition, we hosted a workshop on Concept-Based Inquiry (CBI) Maths for parents by our Head of Teaching and learning, Michelle. The session provided valuable insights into how we approach math learning in the classroom, and it was wonderful to see so many parents engaging with the material. Their participation and enthusiasm will play a key role in supporting the children’s learning at home.
Thursday afternoons have proven to be highly productive, with a focus on professional development and collaboration. Teachers have been given valuable time to work together, planning in a transdisciplinary way to ensure that learning experiences are cohesive and connected across subjects. These sessions are fostering a strong sense of teamwork and helping us refine our teaching approaches.
We’re also excited to announce that, starting this Sunday, our KG department will be extending the school day to 2:50 PM. The extended time will be filled with fun and enriching activities designed to support the children’s development in creative, hands-on ways. We’re looking forward to seeing the great experiences planned for our youngest learners!
