Meet the Teacher Night Success
It was a pleasure meeting so many of you at the Meet the Teacher night on September 18. The evening, held from 4:30 to 6:30 PM, was an exciting opportunity for our secondary school community to come together. This event allowed parents to engage with teachers and gain insight into their children’s learning experiences and goals for the year ahead. I am confident that this strong start will foster a supportive environment as we guide our students towards greater confidence, achievement, and success. Ellesmere Muscat Middle School
Under the guidance of our Leader of Teaching and Learning, Ms. Michelle, our MYP teachers are embracing the development of school-wide Concept-Based Units of Inquiry. This approach will enhance the depth of student understanding across subject areas and help foster critical thinking skills. Additionally, we are excited about the progress being made with the AAL+ center, a dedicated space for students taking Arabic, Omani Social Studies, and Islamic Studies as second language courses. With the dedication of our teaching staff, this center is shaping up to be a key resource in enriching students’ learning experiences in these subjects.
Ellesmere Muscat University Preparatory College
Looking ahead, we are keen to support our students in planning for their academic futures beyond secondary school. On Sunday, September 29, we will be distributing a survey to gather important information about students’ aspirations for university and college. This feedback will enable us to better tailor our university guidance and support services. Please keep an eye out for this survey, as well as future information sessions led by Mr. Ibrahim and Mr. Neil, which will offer invaluable advice to both students and parents regarding higher education pathways and application processes.
