Role Overview

The Mathematics Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging instruction that inspires a love for mathematics among students. This role encompasses teaching responsibilities from Middle School through to the IB Diploma Programme, requiring versatility and a deep understanding of mathematical principles. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collaborative Mathematics Department committed to excellence in education and fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• IB Diploma Mathematics Teaching: Deliver the Mathematics curriculum to IB Diploma students, ensuring rigorous preparation for IB examinations and fostering high-level analytical and critical thinking skills.

• Middle School Mathematics Teaching: Teach mathematics to Middle School students, providing a solid foundation in mathematical concepts and encouraging an enthusiasm for the subject.

• Curriculum Development and Planning: Collaborate with the Mathematics Department to develop and refine curriculum materials and teaching strategies that meet the needs of all students and align with the IB philosophy.

• Assessment and Feedback: Employ a variety of assessment methods to monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement and mastery of mathematical concepts.

• Professional Growth: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance pedagogical skills, maintain familiarity with current educational research, and ensure alignment with IB standards and practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics or a closely related field, with a teaching qualification.
• Significant teaching experience in Mathematics, with specific experience teaching the IB Diploma Programme or A-levels, and a strong understanding of the curriculum requirements of both.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and engage students across a range of ages and abilities, from Middle School to High School.
• Strong commitment to the IB learner profile and educational philosophy, with a passion for developing internationally minded students.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire students in the pursuit of mathematical excellence.
