Role Overview
The English Teacher will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive, engaging English education to students at various stages of their learning journey, from Middle School to the completion of the IB Diploma. This position requires adaptability, creativity, and a commitment to fostering a deep appreciation for the English language, its literature, and its diverse cultural contexts among students.
Key Responsibilities
IB Diploma English Teaching: Teach English Language and Literature to IB Diploma students, preparing them for the rigor of IB assessments with a focus on critical thinking, analysis, and the appreciation of diverse perspectives in literature.
Middle School English Teaching: Deliver engaging English lessons to Middle School students, focusing on developing foundational skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, and fostering a love for English literature.
ESL Instruction: Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students learning English as an additional language, employing strategies to support language acquisition and fluency.
Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the English Department to develop curriculum materials that align with the IB philosophy and address the needs of a diverse student body, including ESL learners.
Assessment and Evaluation: Utilize a variety of assessment tools to monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement in English language and literature skills.

Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Literature, Linguistics, or a related field, with a teaching qualification.
- Significant teaching experience in English, with specific experience teaching the IB Diploma Programme or equivalent, and a strong understanding of the curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Experience and comfort in teaching English as a second language, with proven strategies for engaging and supporting ESL students.
